Consumer Directed Services

Town Hall Meetings

When it comes to managing services, everyone has different needs. Individuals have the right to hire and manage their own service providers through the Consumer Directed Services (CDS) option.

The CDS option is available in the following programs:

  • Community Based Alternatives
  • Deaf-Blind with Multiple Disabilities
  • Consolidated Waiver Program
  • Consumer Managed Personal Attendant Services
  • Primary Home Care, Family Care, and Community Attendant Services
  • Medically Dependent Children Program
  • Community Living Assistance and Support Services
  • Home and Community-based Services
  • Integrated Care Management
  • State of Texas Access Reform Plus (Star+Plus)
  • Personal Care Services
  • Texas Home Living

The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS), in collaboration with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, will be holding a series of free town hall meetings across the state to provide an opportunity for individuals, family members, service providers, and the general public to learn more about the Consumer Directed Services (CDS) option.

If you want to learn more about choice and control and the responsibilities provided by the CDS option, you are invited to attend one of the free town hall meetings. The town hall meetings are free, however, we do ask that you register online so we know you are coming. Thank you and see you soon. Click here to register for a town hall meeting near you.
