The New Mexico Public Education Department, Coordinated School Health and Wellness Bureau is excited to announce that their 2018 School Health Education Institute (SHEI) will be held October 29 & 30 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 

Experts will share activities, tools, and resources to use in your classrooms.  Attendees can choose from a variety of sessions covering topics including family and community outreach, healthy relationships, nutrition, health care for the homeless, school safety and security, and much more.

Who May Attend?

While our primary audience is middle and high school health educators, PE teachers, counselors, nurses, safety/security leads, Healthy Kids Healthy Community Coordinators, and 21st Century Community Learning Centers are welcome to apply.

How Can I Attend?

There is NO COST to attend this exceptional training opportunity and lunch is included both days.  We’ve reserved a block of rooms at the host hotel at a discounted rate. 

Spaces are limited and we are inviting many school districts in New Mexico to participate.  You must APPLY first to be considered for one of these slots. The application closes at 5:00 pm on October 5, 2018.

ROOM RATE: $93 plus tax, single/double occupancy
CUT OFF: March 20, 2018

Reservations: Accommodations are not included in the conference fees and participants must arrange for their own lodging unless otherwise stated. A block of rooms has been reserved at a special rate of $93/night plus tax for single/double occupancy. Rooms are subject to city and state taxes, currently at 13.5% per room per night.  this room rate is only guaranteed until 3/30/2018.  To reserve your room, call the hotel and mention SHEI 2018.
